With Underwater Adventures Tasmania, as a snorkeller or scuba diver you can explore kelp forests, rocky reefs, sponge beds, seagrass beds, and more;  see marine life that you’ll see nowhere else in the world; explore a ships graveyard if wreck diving’s your thing.

Snorkellers and scuba divers are welcome on Tasmania’s largest and most comfortable dive boat, running daily out of Hobart.

DIVING SOUTH EAST TASMANIA

We’re based in Hobart, in the heart of the Bruny bio-region (known as a hotspot of marine life). Our dive boat Kahala, a 10m Powercat, has all the facilities you want for a comfortable day of diving year round. We dive a wide range of sites around the Derwent estuary, the D’Entrecasteaux Channel, Bruny Island, Betsey Island, Storm Bay and the south coast, with occasional longer day or extended trips.

Kahala departs from Hobart itself, which means you lose no time travelling to a dive centre and in addition to your dives you get to enjoy the spectacularly scenic trip down the Derwent River to your dive site. Your adventure starts the moment you step on board.

AUSTRALIA’S SOUTHERN-MOST DIVING

In conjunction with ‘Go’ Charters, we run dives at the southern-most dive sites in Australia including Pedra Branca, Maatsuyker Island, the Actaeon Islands, the south coast of mainland Tasmania and Bruny Island, and the rugged south-west. We depart from Southport on the 15m cruiser ‘Go’, which is perfect for the more isolated wilderness diving of southern Tasmania.

SOMETHING FOR EVERYONE

We cater for snorkellers and scuba divers; qualified divers and those who have never dived before. We provide the support and guidance that you want to enjoy your snorkel or scuba experience. We’ve introduced hundreds of people, aged 8 to 80, to the delights of snorkelling and scuba through courses or ‘discover scuba’ experiences. We welcome divers with disabilities.
